Build
Building something forces an idea to become real technical decisions.
VJML is where I build, document and experiment with Linux systems, open source, alternative architectures, self-hosted infrastructure and local AI.
My technical work revolves around understanding how systems work and what happens when their boundaries are pushed or changed.
Linux and open source are the foundation. From there I work with distributions and packaging, ARM and RISC-V architectures, infrastructure, automation and, increasingly, AI systems running locally.
VJML brings that work together: projects that become real tools, contributions to existing ecosystems and experiments whose purpose may simply be to understand a problem better.
Building something forces an idea to become real technical decisions.
Exploring a system reveals its limits, challenges assumptions and shows how it behaves under different conditions.
Investigating how and why a system works matters as much as making it work.
What was learned goes back into the design, and the next system starts from a better point.

Much of my work happens around open-source software: using, maintaining, adapting and building open tools.
Publishing a project is not only about showing the result. It also preserves the decisions, mistakes, architecture and knowledge required for someone else —or myself six months later— to understand how it works.
That is why VJML is not only a collection of finished projects. The process is part of the work too.
