01 / Overview
The ledger as a technical settlement layer
EuroLedger XRPL explores how the XRP Ledger can act as an open technical settlement layer while keeping the merchant and customer experience centered around euro-denominated amounts. The project covers the full flow required to validate the idea on XRPL testnet, including payment intents, transaction detection, reconciliation, webhooks and WooCommerce integration.

From checkout to confirmation

Checkout
The WooCommerce gateway integrates EuroLedger into the purchase flow and supports both classic checkout and WooCommerce Checkout Blocks.

XRPL detection
A worker observes XRPL testnet and associates detected payments with known intents through references and memos.

Merchant notification
Once a payment is confirmed, merchant events are delivered through signed webhooks with delivery tracking and retry handling.
03 / Architecture
Architecture
The PoC separates checkout, API, XRPL detection and event delivery so each part of the payment flow can be validated independently.
Backend API
FastAPI exposes merchant operations and manages payment intents, API-key authentication, webhook endpoints and system state.
PostgreSQL
Persistent state for intents, merchants, deliveries and related operations is maintained outside the ledger layer.
XRPL worker
An independent worker queries the XRP Ledger testnet and confirms transactions corresponding to known payment intents.
Expiration worker
Payment-intent lifecycle management includes independent expiration processing so pending operations do not remain open indefinitely.
Webhook worker
Merchant delivery is decoupled from the main processing path through queued events, signed webhooks, retries and delivery tracking.
WooCommerce gateway
A separate plugin connects a WooCommerce store to the API and translates received confirmations into order state changes.

Operations and observability
Observable PoC
The repository includes metrics and observability examples using Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager, together with n8n workflows for routing alerts to Telegram.
Testnet-first
EuroLedger XRPL is deliberately limited to local development and XRPL testnet validation. It is not production financial infrastructure, a custody service, a stablecoin issuer or a regulated financial service.
